Jacy Alpert
Jacy Alpert is a costume designer from Boston, Massachusetts. She began her costume design journey when she joined Newton North High School’s TheatreInk costume department. In the costume shop, she learned how to sew, upcycle, break down scripts, and be a member and leader of a team. She was part of the costumes crew on over 15 productions, with roles as a dresser, wardrobe manager, assistant designer, and lead designer. This is where her passion for costume design developed and she fell in love with the craft. Following her high school career, she attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, where she spent one year in the fashion design program. There, she gained deeper technical knowledge of sewing, draping, pattern drafting, technical flat sketching, fashion sketching and rendering, in addition to Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Jacy works as a freelance costume designer, wardrobe stylist, and wardrobe manager. She has worked on short and feature length films, TV pilots, commercials, and theatrical productions.
Outside of her costume design work, Jacy loves spending time in nature, writing, and reading.
